MagneRide Delete Module (OBD-Based Shock Simulator)
The OBD/SS Classic is a MagneRide delete module for 2015-2020 GM vehicles equipped with Magnetic Ride Control (RPO Z95). It is built for applications where the factory electronic dampers are coming out and conventional shocks or coilovers are going in, without the suspension warnings, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and speed limiter that a MagneRide delete sets off. We do not sell shocks, so you are free to pick whatever brand and valving fits your build.
The module works as an OBD-based shock simulator, communicating directly on the vehicle CAN network to suppress the MagneRide shock DTCs that appear once the factory magnetic dampers are unplugged or removed. Because the logic stays inside the vehicle, there are no external resistors, no exposed hardware under the chassis, and no calibration or ride height trim procedure.
The Classic suppresses MagneRide shock DTCs only. It does not suppress Autoride, Automatic Level Control (ALC) Module, or Ride Height Sensor (RHS) codes. If the vehicle is lifted or lowered and the ride height sensors cannot be reconnected, our Ride Height Simulators are required.
On 2015-2020 SUVs the rear air leveling stays on the vehicle. The Classic is the right module when you are replacing the front MagneRide dampers and leaving the rear air shocks and the compressor in place and working. If you plan on towing, we strongly recommend keeping the rear air shocks and replacing only the fronts.
If you want the air system gone as well, that is the OBD/SS Apex. It is built for the same 2015-2020 GM SUVs with RPO Z95 to emulate the Suspension Control Module (SCM), so the MagneRide dampers, the rear air shocks, the compressor, and the lines can all come off the vehicle. The Apex also covers ride height, so no Ride Height Simulators are needed even if the vehicle is lifted or lowered.
