The OBD/SS Apex is a full suspension control module emulator for 2015 to 2020 GM SUVs equipped with MagneRide (Z95), for owners who want to remove the entire MagneRide and air leveling system along with the dampers. If you plan on towing with your SUV, we strongly suggest you keep the air shocks fully operational. You can delete just the front Magneride shocks using our OBD/SS Classic, and the rear air system continues to operate as intended.

The Apex emulates the full suspension control module on the vehicle bus rather than only suppressing the MagneRide damper faults. With the module reporting a complete, healthy system, the vehicle does not set the "Service Suspension System" fault and does not need the air leveling components to stay powered.
The OBD/SS Classic suppresses only the MagneRide damper DTCs and leaves the air leveling system live. With the Classic, if you remove the air shocks, you have to loop the air lines and keep the compressor powered so it can pass its self-check. The Apex removes that constraint. You can remove the entire air system, air lines, compressor, and manifold, with no loop and no compressor kept alive. Choose the Classic if you are keeping the rear air leveling, and the Apex if you are deleting the whole air system.
Replace all four MagneRide dampers with conventional or coilover units and remove the full air leveling system. Ride Height Simulators are not required because the module supplies the ride height signal itself.
The Apex is built for an air-equipped vehicle. Because it emulates a full air and MagneRide system, connecting it to a MagneRide vehicle that has no air system will set faults.
