The OBD/SS Legacy is a full suspension control module emulator for 2007 to 2014 GM SUVs equipped with Autoride (air) (RPO Z55), which includes magnetically controlled shocks. Some Cadillac SUV models started using RPO Z95 before 2015 and are still supported by the Legacy.

On these SUVs, the suspension control module (SCM) manages both the magnetic dampers and the air leveling system. The Legacy takes the place of that module. You pull the fuse for the SCM, then the Legacy connects at the OBD-II port and on the retained accessory power circuit to emulate the SCM on the vehicle bus, including valid ride height data. Because the vehicle sees a complete, healthy suspension module reporting normal signals, the "Service Suspension System" fault does not set.

Because the Legacy emulates the entire SCM rather than only silencing missing shock faults, you can convert the whole suspension. Replace all four dampers with conventional or coilover units, and remove the air leveling system completely, including the air lines and compressor. There is no air line loop to route and no compressor to keep powered for a self-check. Ride Height Simulators are not required, because the module supplies the ride height signal itself.

All four corners are converted at the same time. The Legacy is a full-system emulator, so partial installs, front only or a single damper, are not supported. Connection is at the OBD-II port plus the retained accessory power circuit.

The OBD/SS Legacy is a full Suspension Control Module (SCM) emulator for 2007-2014 GM SUVs that run MagneRide dampers and Autoride air leveling together. On these platforms the air data routes through the SCM, so emulating the module covers both systems at once.

Silence the suspension warnings and the speed limiter

The Legacy satisfies the SCM, so the MagneRide DTCs, the Autoride faults, the dash warnings, and the speed limiter that comes with them all stay off.

The entire air system can go

Compressor, air lines, and rear air shocks can all be removed. The Legacy reports valid ride height data in their place, so nothing has to stay in the vehicle just to keep the system quiet.
